Elite Experience.

Blue Cord is a certified Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) firm that has been providing professional design-build, general construction and construction management services throughout Florida since 2009. With projects spanning from healthcare and education to the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs, our team of dedicated professionals is responsible for the design, construction, and additions to some of the most active and essential facilities in the southeast.

Blue Cord consistently surpasses the expectations of our clients by demonstrating loyalty, dedication, and an unmatched commitment to excellence–qualities that serve as the cornerstone of our company and are encouraged by our founder and CEO Michael T. Waldrop.

As a Combat Wounded Veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom, Michael insists that all projects be conducted with military-like precision and coordination and that our staff, many of whom are former military themselves, strive for excellence and lead by example.

These military influences are evident throughout our company’s practices, resulting in strong, trustworthy, and dependable teams comprised of individuals who know first-hand the importance of accountability, respect, and dedication.

This culture adds strength and pride to Blue Cord and has earned us a reputation for reliability and efficiency–a company that provides exceptional results at the best value while honoring the function and mission of the facilities and clients we serve.

What we do

Blue Cord provides superior design-build, general construction, and construction management services for commercial, industrial, education, and healthcare projects.
Having built a reputation for delivering exceptional quality at best value, Blue Cord is considered by many to be the prime contractor of choice on some of Central Florida's most prominent and vital facilities.

How we do it

Blue Cord approaches every project by first establishing a thorough understanding of the scope, schedule, and vision. Then, relying on decades of proven experience, unique insight, and best practices, our team of design and construction professionals can deliver projects that consistently surpass our client's expectations.

Why we do it

Our motivations for excellence stem from our military roots as well as our commitment to honor and support our armed service veterans.
We never lose sight that the facilities we contribute to are intended to better the lives of the people in our community.

Blue Cord emphasizes a team approach to every project so that our clients benefit from concentrated efforts. That is especially true with the design-build and construction management delivery methods. Our team of contractors provides a tremendous value when engaged with the architect and consultant as early as possible to discuss things like feasibility, budget, schedule and functionality.

What is a Blue Cord?

U.S. Army Soldiers receive the prestigious blue cord upon graduating from specialized training and it marks the moment they become an infantryman.

Blue Cord’s founder’s military career spans from Private to Captain as a U.S. Army Infantry 11-Bravo.

LEED Accredited

Blue Cord Design & Construction understands that sustainability is no longer a buzzword, it’s the standard in building design and construction. That standard has been developed and can be certified at multiple levels by the U.S. Green Building Council through the LEED program.

Michael Waldrop, LEED AP and founder and president of Blue Cord Design & Construction, has extensive experience managing, designing and building LEED-certified projects. Under his leadership, Blue Cord can provide assurance to our clients that we have up to date knowledge of green building technologies, best practices and the rapidly evolving LEED rating systems.

The Infantry Blue Cord is presented to all qualified infantrymen in the U.S. Army at the end of their Initial Entry Training. Commissioned officers earn their blue cord after graduating from the U.S. Army Infantry School's Infantry Officer Basic Course (IBOLC).

Blue Cord has contributed to some of the most prominent and vital medical treatment facilities in Central Florida in direct support of our military veterans.

Beyond the VA, Blue Cord has also provided superior design and construction services to the aerospace, education, and industrial industries, as well as private organizations.
